Hours of work: Casual (on call basis) Flexible Work Role: Field
- Reads meters at customer sites by manually entering customer meter data or downloading smart meter data using an
optical probe and handheld tablet. Collects and records registered meter readings including entering, transcribing,
recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form.
- Plans daily field work orders according to location and established priorities. Contacts customers in advance if indicated
on work orders, interacts on-site with customers, and makes note of safety, access, meter, and site issues. Follows Check
In/Check Out procedures at the beginning and end of each day.
- Performs on-site meter disconnects for electrical service. Performs disconnection / reconnection of electrical service for
smart meters via optical probe and handheld tablet.
- Hand delivers various customer notices; reschedules disconnections and delivers 48-hour payment warnings according to
- Performs visual checks and investigations to complete Investigation Orders related to switched meters, damaged or faulty
- Initiates and/or completes Service Order work such as following up on billing irregularities for all types of accounts.
Contacts and interacts on-site with customers to investigate and resolve billing inquiries, meter connectivity issues, address
changes and updates accounts for billing purposes.
- Tracks and reports a number of different metrics, such as time to complete activities, mileage, administration time, etc.
- May provide Field Service Rep training and shadowing to new staff.
- Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the job.
- College diploma or certificate in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, AND experience in
customer service, or related field AND a valid BC Driver’s Licence.
OR
High school diploma AND several years of experience in customer service, or in a related field AND a valid BC Driver’s
Licence.
