Bridge Brothers is seeking a Field Engineer with a background in civil or structural engineering to ensure the success of our bridge erection and installation process. This role bridges the gap between our design office and the field/shop environment, ensuring projects are executed accurately, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and passionate about building. This position requires splitting time between shop work and collaboration with our design engineers—and requires excellent technical and problem-solving skills.
- Serve as the link between the design office and the shop floor, ensuring accurate interpretation and execution of project plans.
- Monitor bridge fabrication and erection to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Oversee the crane and erection process, verifying that all components and loose pieces are present and correctly configured.
- Collaborate with design engineers to resolve field issues and implement practical solutions.
- Maintain quality control, checking that all assemblies meet project and engineering requirements.
- Support the configuration and fit-up of bridge components before and during installation.
- Review AutoCAD drawings and fabrication details for accuracy.
- Work closely with the fabrication team to identify and address any potential issues before installation.
- Assist in improving quality programs by proactively identifying gaps between design and field execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- 4 years of relevant engineering experience preferref
- FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification or Engineer in Training (EIT) designation preferred; working toward PE is a plus.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and experienced in reading/understanding technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude for part and component configuration.
- Ability to thrive in a mix of field/shop and office environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, full-time
- Employment Type: Exempt, salaried
- Compensation: ~$75,000 base (final to be confirmed)
- Benefits: Eligible after 90 days (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, and paid holidays)
