This position is responsible for all activities relating to facility support and maintenance, associated with plant equipment, processes and systems.
About the Role
The Facility Operations Specialist will be directly responsible for supporting, planning, and coordinating operations and maintenance activities. This position will include supporting all operations efforts for the facility and managing vendors/contractors while remaining in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
•Ensures facilities, equipment and grounds are free from hazards, properly locked and/or secured and maintained.
•Perform routine maintenance and inspection functions, including preventive maintenance and minor repairs on existing equipment, structures, and facilities.
•Coordinate and assure quality of repairs by contractors.
•Create and take part in meetings and presentations with leadership.
•Provide facility wide reporting on departmental spend, progress, tickets, and other metrics as requested.
•Maintain contracts for facilities services such as cranes, waste, recycling, pest control, landscaping, and other repair services.
•Obtain multiple bids from competing vendors.
•Perform job walks with vendors, team members, supervisors, and managers, coordinating and overseeing vendor activities within the facility.
•Work with the purchasing department to ensure vendors are approved, vetted, and insured.
•Assist with non-disclosure agreement (NDA) requirements, audits, walk throughs and safety training.
•Create and communicate requests for purchase orders (RFPO).
•Manage expenses within a budget.
•Aid with the planning of floor layouts in a team environment.
•Develops, implements, and monitors project plans.
•Contributes expertise to major project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
•Communicates project status and issues regularly to leaders, team members, and managers.
•Assist with process improvements etc.
•Adhere to lock out tag out policy and other safety policies.
Qualifications
•High school diploma/GED required.
Required Skills
•At least 3 years’ experience with facilities in a manufacturing environment.
•Familiarity with space planning procedures and operations.
•Ability to make independent judgments with limited information.
•Lean, logical and strategic approach to solving problems, good critical thinking skills.
•Ability to read and understand basic floor plans.
•Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment, balancing several projects at any given time, and flexible to adjust for abrupt changes in direction.
•Prefer MRP/ERP experience.
•Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
•Must be able to read, give and take direction in English.
•Must be detailed oriented, have basic math skills and Strong computer and M.S. Office skills, especially Excel.
•Well versed at analyzing information, reporting investigation results, and have solid documentation skills.

•Will be working in a shop environment.
•Ability to lift to 50lbs and move heavy carts.
•Able to work full time and have great attendance.
