Job Description
Reporting to the Niles Operations Manager for Bonnell, we are actively seeking a result-oriented professional with strong leadership skills responsible for creating and leading an experienced team of well-established contributors in the aluminum extrusion industry. As a Fabrication Manager, you will oversee several projects at once, manage multiple tasks, and deadlines simultaneously.
Achieves business goals, revenue cost, and profit through manufacturing processes, technical and continuous improvement initiatives with knowledge of customer needs while coaching, guiding, and influencing employees to meet defined business objectives.
The Fabrication Manager is a strategic position which is critical to the success of the work process and success of day-to-day business goals. This position interacts at all levels in the department and could work with different crews on varying time schedules. This role is a model for plant leadership, driving the vision and Core values while achieving business goals.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
•Manage and supervise the fabrication team, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
•Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring efficient utilization of resources to meet project deadlines.
•Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to review specifications, resolve technical issues, and optimize fabrication processes.
•Monitor and control project budgets, including material costs, labor expenses, and equipment maintenance.
•Implement quality control procedures to ensure adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
•Coordinate with procurement to source and procure raw materials, equipment, and tools required for fabrication projects.
•Oversee equipment maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
•Foster a safe working environment by enforcing compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety among team members.
•Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and productivity enhancements in the fabrication department.
•Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide training and development opportunities, and address any performance or disciplinary issues within the fabrication team.
•Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in fabrication technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and drive innovation.
What You’ll Need To Have
•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
•Proven experience (2-4 years) as a Fabrication Manager or in a similar leadership role within a fabrication environment.
•Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, processes, and equipment.
•Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
•Solid understanding of quality control principles and practices.
•Proficient in project management methodologies, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
•Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
•Strong organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
•Familiarity with safety regulations and the ability to enforce safety standards.
•Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant software applications.
