Raco Steel Company operates a steel service/production plant in Markham, IL (Chicago South Suburb) which processes steel coils, with modern flat rolled steel processing equipment, into product ultimately to be used in a variety of industries requiring precision-cut slit coils, blanks and/or leveled sheets. We will provide additional on-job training with experienced team members!

Due to our growth, we are now looking for several responsible, reliable, and punctual individuals. This is a great opportunity for candidates who have one or more years of steel warehouse or steel manufacturing industrial experience! We are hiring for 1st and 2nd shift (3-11). If hired for 2nd shift, may have opportunity to work days later.

Job Duties (we will train):

· Load and unload trucks

· Move and stack materials

· Assist machine operators and production floor management as requested

· Performs a variety of operations within the department to maintain the flow of work, such as staging material as needed in a timely manner

· Package slit steel coils, cut blanks or leveled sheets on pallets by securely banding and wrapping as required… correctly placing shipping labels on packages

· General housekeeping duties in the warehouse and production areas

· Follow current good, safe warehousing practice… keeping department organized and clean

· Perform other duties as assigned

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

· Able to provide some history of responsible and steady work experience in the steel industry… experience operating a forklift in a steel warehouse desirable, but not necessary.

· Forklift operator certification desirable, but not required

· Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)

· Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs.

· Must pass physical and drug screen... as well as background check.
