Estimator with technical/mechanical CAD background

Company Background:

- DESAPRO is an international leading company in the design and manufacturing of aluminum cases for the aerospace, defense and medical industries.

- We are growing and currently in search adding a team member to our estimating.

Position summary:

- Prepare cost estimates for quotes or bids.

- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare materials and labor estimates.

- Must be willing to work in a very fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Estimating Functions:

- Review and analyze provided documents from customer service and if available blueprints to prepare product estimates.

- Assess cost effectiveness of products by researching past built or past quotes and perform “sanity check”.

- Consult with engineering and customer service / sales to discuss or resolve issues and questions.

- Collaborate with supply chain to receive costing for certain special items of subcontractors (AC unit, foam, special parts).

- Work directly with vendors for quotes in coordination with supply chain.

- Review/edit SOW of existing cases and create SOW for new cases.

- Prepare cost and labor estimate for the product or service to be offered for customer service.

- Update cost of parts together with supply chain on a regular basis.

- Back up for customer service generating quotes.

Job qualifications:

- 3-5 years of relevant work experience as mechanical CAD designer

- 3+ years’ experience as estimator.

- Ability to read blueprints required.

- Knowledge of ERP system (M2M a plus) and Microsoft Suite a must.

- Advanced Excel skills to include pivot tables required.

- Requires strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

- Ability to analyze, interpret and compare detailed and often inadequately defined information.

- Familiar with aluminum fabrication, welding, chemical treatment, painting and marking processes a plus.
