Equipment Repair Technician

Southern Switch & Contacts focuses on the repair and replacement of electric utility 3-phase switches along with other components found within a substation.

The successful candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, possess good mechanical knowledge and preferably torch brazing experience.

The Shop Technician will perform the following duties (and others as deemed necessary from time to time)

- Receive switches or parts from the customer or courier

- Assess the condition

- Disassemble equipment

- Determine replacement parts required and communicate with machinists to begin fabrication

- Clean, repair, and prep for reassembly

- Reassemble all components to a like new condition

- General shop cleaning and upkeep

Other associated duties:

- Welding & Brazing

- Sand blasting

- Grinding/Sanding

- Parts Cleaning

- General shop maintenance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
