Equipment Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating a variety of heavy machinery on construction sites. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for the operation of various types of equipment, ensuring that all tasks are completed according to project specifications and safety regulations.

Duties

- Operate equipment including but not limited to 3.5T mini excavator and single axle dump truck

- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.

- Safely transport materials using dump truck and pickup truck

- Collaborate with construction teams to execute project plans effectively.

- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery on-site.

- Preoperational inspections and basic maintenance of equipment.

- Assist other trades as required.

- Other duties as directed.

Requirements

- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation with a focus on construction site experience.

- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain equipment effectively.

- Valid commercial driving license (Class 3/5 ) preferred for operating specific vehicles. .

- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices on the job site.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.

Please note the applicant will be required to work on various locations through the island. The company will provide paid travel and accommodations for all work on the road. The role will is currently for a duration of 3 months with possibility of full time extension.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 70 per week
