JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Equipment Maintenance Specialist to manage construction materials inventory and to track/maintain our field construction equipment.
Your goal is to ensure construction equipment, tools and materials are managed and well-maintained to support our field construction operations. To be successful in the role, you are an organized team-player who builds positive work relationships. You are well-versed in welding construction equipment, preventative maintenance, warehouse/yard management and time management.
You are strong in reporting equipment maintenance. You will have a solid understanding of remote field construction site equipment requirements and possess general technical aptitude.
Experience:
•Supervisory/management: 5 years
•Equipment Maintenance: 5 years (Required)
•Welding / construction equipment (Tank and Boiler related experience preferred)
•Rigging and Hoisting Equipment and Materials Management (Slings, Chokers, Chainfalls, Comealongs etc.)
•Safety Supplies and Safety Equipment Management (SRLs, Harnesses, Masks/Filters, Standard PPE)
•Computer Proficiency (Excel, Microsoft Office, Adobe)
•Detailed Responsibilities
•Keep Track of; maintenance schedules/service intervals, equipment condition and location of all the construction equipment tools and materials
•Implement and maintain systems for inventory, preventive maintenance and repair of the construction equipment fleet including vehicles, welding machines, diesel generators, rigging equipment and compressors, etc
•Ensure that facilities safety inspections and safe work procedures are followed/updated for warehouse/yard
•Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to related to daily warehouse/yard/maintenance activities
•Develop equipment maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
•Carry out inspections (periodical and scheduled) of equipment and facilities to identify and resolve issues
•Plan, execute or manage all repairs and activities (Internal and Subcontract)
•Monitor construction equipment inventory and place order requisitions
•Monitor tool crib inventory and place order requisitions
•Keep maintenance logs and complete report on daily activities
•Responsible for maintaining the yard and shop areas neat, clean and orderly
•Plan and organize storage locations for efficient use of space
•Logistics Responsibilities
•Gather equipment/tools/materials as per Job tool requests and organize shipping to/from jobs
•To plan, arrange and coordinate the safe movement of material and equipment to and from construction sites and suppliers/vendors
•Loading, unloading and load securement of equipment and material
•Optimize load size, delivery schedule, cost effectiveness and reliability of the carrier
•Create bills of lading, receive bills of lading, all paperwork associated with logistics
•Other items as applicable
Requirements:
•Proven experience as Maintenance Supervisor/Technician or related role
•Working knowledge of welding fabrication equipment
•Working knowledge of safety equipment and certification requirements thereof
•Experience in planning equipment maintenance operations
•Solid understanding of technical aspects of electrical, mechanical and diesel-powered equipment
•Ability to manage service/equipment vendors to ensure quality and value is delivered
•Ability to track and report on maintenance and inventory activity
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and web-based applications preferred
•Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
•Industrial trade certificate of qualification (Industrial mechanic/ electrician)
•Ability to lift 50 lbs with bending and stretching
•Able to work overtime if required
•Overhead crane/ rigging/ Tow motor/ tractor trailer loading/unloading experience
•Must be able to work overtime as required on a non-routine basis
•Able to travel to job sites if required
•Must have a valid G driver license
Engagement:
•Full-time day-shift at Jarvis Ontario Facility
•Work hours Monday to Friday 7:00 – 3:30
