Job Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day dispatching/scheduling of rubber tire backhoes with proficient operators in an assigned Region; responsible for the day-to-day dispatching/scheduling of support equipment and small tools to maximize the utilization of GOH equipment assets throughout all operational regions. This hourly,non-exempt position will work with direct and indirect supervision.
Job Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day dispatching/scheduling of rubber tire backhoes with proficient operators in an assigned Region; responsible for the day-to-day dispatching/scheduling of support equipment and small tools to maximize the utilization of GOH equipment assets throughout all operational regions. This hourly, non-exempt position will work with direct and indirect supervision.
Essential Functions:•Track and dispatch attachments, walk behind saws, T-tags, welders, air compressors, dirt rollers, F/R plates, generators, stone sleds, trench shields, water pumps, and fuel tanks.
•Assist with equipment schedules with associated operators to fulfill the construction operations project schedules. Communicate surplus or deficit with Equipment Manager.
•Attend Regional schedule meetings to understand and assist Equipment Manager with needs/schedules and to inform region on equipment surplus or deficit.
•Track and rent small tools to meet field operation needs. Communicate surplus or deficit with Director of Equipment Operations.
•Maintain daily communication with backhoe operators on any project issues, equipment issues, and/or scheduling issues to maintain a highly motivated and satisfied pool of operators.
•Schedule, dispatch, and coordinate with transportation services the movement of backhoes and support equipment to project sites through coordination with Project Managers/Superintendents and Equipment Manager.
•Load and unload support equipment as needed.
•Assist with scheduling of snow removal services.
•Coordinate preventive maintenance for support equipment and small tools with Shop Leader.
•Rent and schedule job trailers.
•Monitor and schedule fuel delivery for the bulk fuel tank at the State College location.
•Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
•Frequently work more than 40 hours per week and non-traditional hours including night shift, Saturdays and occasionally Sundays.
•Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Knowledge of:
•Working knowledge of equipment functions, features and abilities.
•Microsoft Office software.
•Scheduling software, including Dispatcher, Viewpoint, and Primavera.
Ability to:
•Learn, follow, and enforce GOH Company policies and procedures.
•Plan, organize, and direct the work of others.
Qualifications:
•Must be able to operate rubber tire IT loader and forklifts.
•Valid driver's license for the state in which you reside with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers required.
•Effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
Education:
•High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
•Prefer additional training beyond high school.
Experience:
•Prefer three years of experience in inventory control and asset management.
•Prefer previous supervisory experience in heavy equipment operation or construction industry.
