HLP Engineering, Inc is a professional engineering firm providing environmental compliance consulting services since 1994. Due to continued growth, our Field Services Group is seeking an experienced fulltime Environmental Technician in Broussard, LA. The Environmental Technician will be involved primarily in emissions testing and leak detection surveying, along with additional field sampling services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Coordinate project visits with field personnel

· Conduct air emissions stack testing on various types of engines

· Perform leak detection surveys with optical gas imaging

· Read, interpret, and summarize various state and federal regulations

· Prepare testing and surveying reports in timely manner

· Perform additional field services such as sampling, testing, and surveying as service lines continue to grow

· Travel in and around the U.S. to conduct emissions testing and/or leak detection surveys (up to 75% travel)

· Interact and cultivate/maintain relationships with clients, regulators, and HLP employees

Requirements:

· Post Secondary education in relevant field (including environmental sciences, biology, ecology, chemistry, etc.)

· Prior environmental consulting and/or mechanical experience strongly preferred

· Knowledge of/Experience with oil & gas process and typical production equipment preferred

· Build and maintain positive relationships, internal or external

· Ethical business practices

· Above average computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel)

· Coordinate and work effectively in a team setting

· Requires occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. and more frequent lifting of up to 20 lbs.

· Requires long periods of standing and /or working in the standing position

· Flexibility is a must for success in this position

· Must pass pre-employment drug screen

· Good driving record
