Job Title: Environmental Manager – Mining Operations (Utah)

We are seeking an experienced
Environmental Managerto lead environmental permitting and compliance efforts for a major mine expansion project in Utah. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the
Environmental Impact Statement (EIS)application continues to progress successfully through public commentary and achieves a
positive Record of Decision (ROD)from federal and state agencies. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of
mine permitting, environmental regulations, and stakeholder engagement, as well as hands-on experience managing operational compliance at an active surface mine.
EIS application
for mine expansion, ensuring all technical, regulatory, and public engagement requirements are met.
four key EIS chapters
(Purpose & Need, Affected Environment, Environmental Consequences, and Alternatives) in collaboration with consultants, scientists, and legal teams.
federal (BLM, EPA), state (DWQ, DOGM), and local agencies
to navigate permitting timelines, address regulatory concerns, and secure approvals.
public commentary processes
, including community meetings, tribal consultations, and stakeholder negotiations to build support for the project.
Clean Water Act (CWA), Clean Air Act (CAA), NEPA, SMCRA, and state mining regulations
related to air quality, water discharge, waste management, and wildlife protection.
environmental monitoring programs
(water, air, wildlife, cultural resources) and ensure timely submission of
quarterly/annual reports
to agencies.
remediation plans
for any environmental impacts and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
BLM, DWQ, DOGM, EPA, tribal governments, and NGOs
to facilitate smooth permitting and compliance processes.
environmental management systems (EMS)
at the active mine site, ensuring adherence to permits and mitigation measures.
