Position Summary
Work with various welding machines and equipment as a part of a welding assembly line. Operate welding equipment for end prep of pipe using techniques such as Stick, Mig, Wire, Air Arc, Trackwork, and Plasma
Experience Level Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Operates, preps, and sets various welding machines which includes Robot, NAP, and Cypress.
- Works on will-call orders to layout specifications
- Handles pipes and materials weighing up to 50 lbs; at times lifting repetitively and/or shuffling materials down an assembly line onto a layout table, welding stand, or cart/dolly
- Performs air pressure test and visual inspections on welded piping to assure quality products
- Uses basic reading and writing skills to interpret layout plans and labels
- Works in a warehouse environment in hot and cold weather conditions, and with exposure to sparks and glares
- May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position and at least 1 year of basic welding experience
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.
- Able to meet all physical requirements.
- Must have all required tools
- Able to work outdoors/inside of a warehouse in all weather conditions and be exposed to sparks and glares
- Able to work overtime and weekends as required by the workload
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required
