A project engineer’s primary responsibility is to provide engineering support in efforts of feasibility development, design generation and review, and engineer mechanical systems for industrial facilities. A project engineer will work under the supervision of other more senior engineers regarding project designs, design reviews with customers, and onsite walk-downs in the field. The project engineer will use existing project examples and engineering templates to develop new designs and equipment requirements.
This position will also serve as a client-facing representative of the Employer, requiring the resource to communicate with clients as needed and support the installed base of CANUSA EPC clients. This position, may require travel to customer sites, events, or training related to business activities for the Employer.
· Communicate effectively with Project Team members, supervisors, and managers
· Specify and review vendor requirements & documentation
· Monitor & control vendor progress and conformity to design specifications
· Review and update Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)
· Size valves and piping for review by supervising engineers
· Conduct on-site surveys to gather field data
· Support of CANUSA EPC projects in North America, requiring visits away from home to support and start-up CANUSA EPC projects
· Understanding and practice of CANUSA EPC safety standards while performing business-related services
· Perform to CANUSA EPC to engineering standards, policies, and details
· Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:
· Interest in oil & gas related projects
· Basic understanding of gas Compression, Pumps and Rotating Equipment
· Basic understanding of 2D and 3D design, such as AutoCAD, CADWorx and NavisWorks
· Working knowledge of fluids, material science, and strength of materials
· Basic understanding of electrical circuits, specifically 120V single phase and 480V 3 phase systems
· Work independently and within a team environment
· Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
· A passport and eligible travel to Canada
· Oral communication—the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and conducts meetings.
· Written Communication—the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draws valid conclusions.

The performance of this position may require travel in North America & job sites where under certain areas require the use of PPE (personal protective equipment). For the most part, the employee will be subject to ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
