About the Role:
We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of aggregate processing plants. This role is designed as a jump-off point to grow within the company by gaining knowledge in all areas of the project lifecycle and ultimately finding an area of interest to specialize in. The Project Engineer will work with various departments within our engineering group, developing skills and knowledge in all facets of the project lifecycle from initial quoting, project management, mechanical design, and final fabrication. This role will involve working with multiple team members to ensure our projects meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Pre-Construction:
•Utilize customer-supplied information to provide plant layouts and pricing for upcoming projects
•Work directly with the sales team to help provide customer quotes for new projects and equipment.
Project Management
•Coordinate product design and development for equipment used in processing bulk material and aggregates.
•Material Processing systems flow & design.
•Field measurement & site surveying.
•Coordinate project-related activities with all stakeholders: Customers, Suppliers, Subcontractors, Sales, Estimating, Production, Purchasing, Vendors, etc.
Product Design and Development:
•Coordinate designing and developing custom conveying equipment, crushing, and screening plants.
•Perform design analysis for components to ensure reliability and efficiency.
•Create detailed drawings, including bills of materials, title blocks, dimensions, and weld symbols.
•Develop hydraulic schematics and piping layouts.
•Detail and support the production of steel fabrication.
Design Evaluation and Implementation:
•Evaluate and implement design changes to improve equipment performance and efficiency.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
Field Integration:
•Travel to job sites (5%-10%) to observe and learn how design drawings are transformed into functional processing plants.
•Apply field experience to improve future design processes and outcomes.
Qualifications:
Education:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a Mining, Structural Civil, or Mechanical focus.
•High School Diploma with 5+ years of experience in a heavy manufacturing/construction environment.
Experience:
•1-2 years of experience in a design engineer role or related field.
•detailing and/or steel fabrication production.
•Formal education/training in drafting, structural design, and mechanical and welding symbols preferred.
•Experience in the aggregate, mining, or structural steel fabrication industry is preferred.
Technical Skills:
•Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor CAD systems or similar 2D and 3D CAD software.
•Thorough understanding of hydraulic schematics and piping layouts.
Candidate Requirements:

•Willingness to travel to job sites, with occasional overnight stays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
