Engineering Manager
Position Summary: We are looking for a proactive engineering manager with significant hands-on experience in the power generation industry. One with strong technical and electrical experience to help with designs and special projects. Able to work with our Engineering team to carry out specific tasks that are vital to sales, production, and the engineering department.
Essential Functions
Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:
•Manages staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel.
•Implements and refines product development, testing, and manufacturing processes.
•Works with customers, engineers, and other departments to communicate needs and help with processes throughout the company.
•Facilitates teams in the development of new products and solutions.
•Help to train new employees and monitor their progress.
•Collaborate with the sales team, engineering staff and production teams to help create new or improved internal processes.
•Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs.
•Identify potential operational issues to improve efficiencies.
•Update files and maintain consistency with engineering records and parts drawings.
•Communicate with purchasing and or suppliers to obtain specifications and quotes.
•Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner.
•Advocates on behalf of team members by securing adequate resources for success.
•Arrives to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.
•Collaborates with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner.
•Gauge progress of various projects to ensure on-time completion.
•Assures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
•As necessary, assist those in other departments’ projects outside the normal scope of operation.
Qualifications
•10+ years of hands-on work experience in a manufacturing and engineering role.
•Knowledge of electrical components, generators, circuit breakers, load centers, panel boards, transformers, etc.
•Knowledge of fuel tanks, fuel pumps, enclosures, exhaust systems.
•Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
•Familiarity with 3D modeling software, preferably Solid Works.
•Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook is a must.
•Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
•Ability to prioritize projects and strong problem-solving skills.
•Good research skills and attention to detail.
•Ability to juggle multiple projects with superb accuracy.
•Ability to meet deadlines.
•Strong administrative skills.
•Exceptional customer service skills, over the phone and in person, with our customers and internal departments.
•Knowledge in Epicor, SAP or other ERP software.
•Knowledge of operating standard office equipment.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and/or sit for long periods of time; walk on non-forgiving surfaces such as concrete, wood, and metal (to include metal or fiberglass ramps placed on 30 degree angles); climb stairs, balance, climb, stoop, crouch, and crawl; walk on hilly and uneven ground; use hands to handle and feel; reach with hands; lift push, pull, and/or move more than 20 lbs. without a mechanical aid; and communicate with others Work environment is a manufacturing warehouse atmosphere with extreme temperature changes, loud noises and machinery with moving parts. The work environment could also involve some outside exposure.
