The Engineering Manager leads a team of engineers responsible for designing, implementing, and commissioning protection, control, and SCADA systems in company owned substations, for field line devices, and at Balancing Authority locations to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of electric service to customers. The Engineering Manager works closely with other EDAM, Power Generation, Telecom, and ATC managers and supervisors, Supply Chain, System Operations and dispatch personnel, substation construction and maintenance, and field construction work groups.
The Engineering Manager will ensure that appropriate resources are assigned to support planned and emergent construction projects, design and implement automated switching schemes, implement and test Balancing Authority (BA) metering points, monitor and maintain compliance with NERC CIP standards, and support major corporate initiatives such as implementation of the ADMS project, Storm Hardening Program, major economic development projects such as datacenter projects, and supporting other WEC business units as appropriate.
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
