About This Job

Sortera Technologies is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team as we expand operations to our new facility in Lebanon, TN. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth of our company by supporting the launch and ongoing operations of our Tennessee plant.

The Engineering Manager will oversee mechanical systems for high-speed material handling equipment, with a focus on troubleshooting, process improvement, and integrating new technologies. This role works closely with software, maintenance, and operations teams to support efficient and reliable production.

Responsibilities

•

Design mechanical systems, equipment, and fixtures for material handling and measurement equipment.

•

Direct and coordinate construction, installation, maintenance, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements

•

Integrate new technologies into equipment processes

•

Analyze product flow and perform continuous improvement activities for quality and throughput

•

Troubleshoot mechanical systems and basic electrical troubleshooting

•

Work with software teams to integrate with the production systems

•

Develop, document, and follow production processes

•

Support maintenance and operations with repairs and redesigns to meet production goals and maintain original equipment design intent

•

Create and adhere to project plans and budgets

•

Prepare specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment and the solicitations of contractors

•

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

•

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

•

Proficient with SolidWorks CAD software

•

Fundamental understanding of material strengths, dynamics, and manufacturing processes. Diligence in Engineering Design Principles with a strong aptitude in math and physics

•

Ability to safely and effectively use hand tools such as wrenches, drills, saws, etc.

•

Ability to communicate effectively with operators and vendors

•

Proven ability to lead and manage teams

•

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
