The successful candidate is responsible for the overall engineering and design document control function and SAP ERP administrative duties. The engineering clerk compiles and maintains job related records and files to release blueprints, drawings, and engineering documents to manufacturing and other operating departments by performing the following duties.
- Adhere to the Company Core Values; policies – including LPI rules, procedures and processes, ISO 9001:2015 Quality System requirements; OSHA Regulations, company safety rules.
- Enter projects into ERP system (SAP).
- Enter design and engineering hours into our ERP system (SAP).
- Tracking KPIs (key performance indicators).
- Verifies completeness and accuracy of drawings and change orders (ECN).
- Confers with change notice (ECN & DCN) originator to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to drawings.
- Notify affected departments of changes to control records, and release documents
- Distributing ECNs and DCNs (engineering and design change notices)
- Maintain vendor catalogs and data
- Communicate with Project Manager and Project Engineer for total clarity of data and documents for document disposition/tracking and follow-up for task completion.
- Submit Customer drawing transmittals and follow up on approvals.
- Maintain a computer database of all filed and customer transmittal documentation that ensures fast retrieval of documents.
- Filing customer drawing returns and notifying engineers of receipt.
- Adding coversheets to supplier drawings received from purchasing and securing engineering and quality reviews and approvals and notifying purchasing of comments or approvals.
- Organizing and filling supplier deliverables.
- Follow-up with design, engineering, quality, purchasing, sales to assure that all the As-Built, quality, supplier deliverables, and spare part documents are in final required format.
- Originate and assemble final document IOM and MDB packages (installation operations manual and material datebook).

- 2+ years of experience as a technical writer and or engineering clerk.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills: Effectively communicate via email, written and verbally by phone or in person. Able to listen, absorb, follow directions and provide valuable feedback.
- Performance Driven Self Starter: Need to have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated, disciplined to achieve goals and deadlines putting in extra time or effort as needed. Needs to face obstacles head on with determination and persistence to work through them.
- Positive Team builder: Ability to work in harmony with others. Must be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, vendors and customers.
- Problem Solving Skills: Able to proactively identify and analyze problems and determine solutions to implement the best possible outcome with minimal direction.
- Organization: Organizational and planning skills are necessary for time management, multi-tasking and working through competing demands to use effectively use resources and complete tasks correctly and on time.
- Technical Writing Competency: Able to recognize, review and manage technical documents for assembly of final document packages.
- Associate degree or equivalent 2 years of related experience and training
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools such as Outlook, Excel, Project, and Word.
- Working Experience using ERP systems similar to SAP Business One
Hourly Rate: $25 to $28 depending on experience.
