York Water is seeking an Engineer to join our dynamic team and support a variety of water and wastewater engineering projects. - Plan, design, and oversee construction of capital improvement projects.
- Perform engineering analyses of existing and future water/wastewater facilities.
- Coordinate and manage consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project budgets and timelines to ensure efficient delivery.
- Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and regulatory documentation.
- Support inspections of facilities and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Stay up-to-date with engineering regulations, trends, and technologies.
- Attend and present at meetings with public officials, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
- Represent York Water in the community and participate in industry events.
- Maintain a professional and positive presence in all interactions on behalf of the company.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or a related Engineering field from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 0–4 years of experience in engineering roles; internships or co-ops in water/wastewater are a plus.
- Engineering Intern (EI) certification is required or must be obtained within one year of hire.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license required.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, GIS, GPS, and engineering software (e.g., WaterCAD, SewerCAD) is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical reports, regulatory documents, and engineering plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to diverse audiences.
- Ability to apply scientific reasoning and work through complex technical challenges.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., walk job sites, and work in various outdoor conditions.
