Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the General Supervisor - Engineering, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will liaise with the Underground Engineering Supervisors and provide strategic alignment to the Underground Projects & Services Technicians. You will focus on underground engineering projects and services management and stewardship. You will be accountable for leading detailed engineering studies to support LOM/ELOM underground services and infrastructures. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives of the department are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
•Leading detailed engineering studies to support LOM/ELOM underground services and infrastructures (e.g., dewatering, mud management, ventilation, energy, air);
•LOM/3MR construction plans;
•Coordinating implementation for all underground services related items to successfully mine as per LOM/ELOM through project charters;
•Providing cost estimates for budget exercises along with business cases;
•All existing deliverables and accountabilities related to safe, reliable, and cost-effective deployment of underground services and infrastructure – Ventilation, Water, Power, Air, Maintenance;
•Underground CAPEX tracking and control activities;
•Provide professional engineering sign off / stamping, as required, for underground infrastructure or construction prints;
•Conduct monthly audits and review of ventilation systems;
•Ensure as-built plans of mining systems are kept up-to-date;
•Follow up with consultants according to underground construction projects;
•List and order all required components to successfully deliver projects;
•Collaborate with the Mine Operations Department to facilitate execution of the work;
•Promote innovation and continuous improvement in safety and productivity.
What You Need To Succeed
•Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering;
•5+ years of progressive experience in underground mining, particularly in mine services;
•Professional designation (P.Eng) in the Northwest Territories/Nunavut or able to quickly obtain designation;
•Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and mine design/planning software (Deswik is considered an asset);
•Project management skills and experience;
•Underground mine rescue experience is considered an asset.
Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.
Your Work Schedule•Hybrid Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A combination of tele-working with presence at our offices in either Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda or Mirabel, QC. Frequent visits to site are also required;
•Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
