Enbridge is actively seeking an Engineer III. This dynamic person will be responsible for performing, reporting and presenting on risk assessments of pipelines, facilities and storage assets using standard and non-standard tools and techniques to support department objectives and stakeholder’s requests. Additionally, they will support continuous improvement activities and develop tools, processes, and methodologies to enhance the capabilities of integrity risk assessment. You will also collaborate with senior team members to develop recommendations that provide the basis for making critical safety and business decisions. Responsible for assigned tasks in the development and/or implementation of technical solutions for specific areas ensuring efficient coordination of technical and administrative resources and ensuring coordination with other internal and /or external stakeholders. Perform quantitative assessment of risks associated with gas transmission, gas processing, and gas storage assets following standard and non-standard processes. Support the management of stakeholders’ requests including problem definition, data collection, application of standard and non-standard assessment techniques, and communication of results. Collaborate with senior team members on continuous improvements of assessment tools and develop new techniques through researching relevant literature, performing feasibility studies and system-wide analysis, building business cases for improvement ideas, performing automation and improvement of existing models. Communicate effectively highly technical results and analysis methodologies used in standard and non-standard assessments, results, limitations, etc. to department leadership and team members through presentations and written communications. Drive PI-Core Process implementation and other critical risk decisions. Develop and maintain processes, procedures, and work instructions under supervision of Senior Engineers and Specialists. Support consequence and risk assessment models (or other complex tasks) through providing technical judgement, reliability knowledge, and other areas of technical expertise. Contribute to industry publications and technical reports to support industry advancement. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a minimum of 4 years of technical experience in two or more of the following areas: Risk Management related to Oil & Gas assets, Pipeline integrity related projects and programs, Research-related projects requiring review of industry literature, interpretation of a variety data types, and generation of conclusions and recommendations based on findings. Knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 192, ASME B31.8S, CSA Z662, OSHA 1910.119, Z767, API 1173, ISO 3100 and other industry regulations and standards. Proficiency in Excel, Pivot Tables and Power Bi, MS Office Suite and statistical tools (such as @RISK and MATLAB). Strong critical thinking skills related both to technical problems and project management as well as communicate effectively with stakeholders. Preferred qualifications include Professional Engineering designation, experience with pipeline integrity reliability and risk software, and advanced degree (master’s or PhD) in Engineering. The role is office-based with hybrid work arrangements allowing work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays for eligible employees. Physical and mental requirements are detailed in the job posting.
