Position Summary
The Engagement Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the Economic Development team's engagement goals through strategic event planning and execution. This position involves managing events, coordinating entertainment experiences, and serving as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance visibility and promote Georgia Power's economic development initiatives.
The role also supports various marketing and recruitment activities, contributing to the team's broader objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Engagement Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and manage a quarterly engagement strategy to support the Economic Development team's engagement goals.
- Oversee event execution including venue selection, budget management, invitations, attendance tracking, catering, and post-event follow-up to ensure seamless delivery and impactful engagement.
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of entertainment ticketing and suite experiences, ensuring thoughtful distribution, proactive coordination, and conducting post-event analysis to evaluate engagement and effectiveness.
- Assist Business Recruitment team with planning and execution of prospect visits, including communications with communities, other Georgia Power departments, and external economic development partners.
- Serve as back-up for presentations to internal groups, community groups, prospects, and others as needed.
- Work closely with team members to support events, travel, marketing, and engagement goals.
- Help maintain and update broker/consultant databases
- Drive consistent messaging and enhance visibility across key audiences to strengthen Georgia Power's presence and influence in economic development initiatives (coordinate blogs, social media, and other thought leadership efforts).
- Serve as a liaison between the Statewide Economic Development and Strategic Solutions Marketing teams to actively promote industry events and related projects.
- Assist in planning marketing events and in developing and updating presentation materials.
- Help identify marketing opportunities, such as tradeshows or events for strategic partners and consultants.
- Performance Metrics:
- Track and report on key performance metrics, including the number of events managed, external touchpoints supported, marketing trips or conferences assisted, and marketing materials or social media blogs supported.
- Track ROI related to allocated budget and execution of engagement activities.
- 4-Year degree in business, event management, marketing, or a related area is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in event management, project management, or liaising between departments and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to build relationships with economic development professionals and potential prospects.
- Self-starter, energetic, and a quick learner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems.
- Experience working with government entities is preferred.
