Southside Electric Cooperative (SEC) is seeking an Energy Auditor & Programs Specialist to deliver residential and commercial energy audits and implement SEC's energy efficiency, demand-side management, and member-facing programs. Your role is to ensure that our members receive services that improve energy use, lower costs, and reduce grid demand. While this position is technical in nature and requires strong analytical skills, you are an excellent communicator and find purpose in serving others.

What will you do if hired?
•Conduct on-site (home and business) and virtual energy audits for residential, agricultural, and small commercial members.
•Analyze energy usage patterns and provide detailed reports with recommendations for efficiency improvements.
•Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with contractors, county officials, government and state agencies, businesses and community organizations to support the successful delivery of energy efficiency audits, weatherization initiatives and member-facing programs. Coordinates with partners to ensure program alignment, resource sharing and effective communication throughout the project implementation.
•Implement all phases of energy-related programs and services from planning and budgeting recommendations to promotion, delivery and performance evaluation. Serve as the primary point of contact for member-facing energy programs and services.
•Collaborate with internal teams to design and launch new energy efficiency or demand-side management initiatives.
•Work with marketing and communications staff to promote programs and educate members on energy-saving strategies.
•Represent the cooperative at industry events, community outreach activities, and stakeholder meetings.
•Assist in grant writing or funding proposals to support energy programs.
•Train and support other Cooperative staff in energy-related topics as needed.
•Develop comprehensive post-audit reports to provide members with tailored energy solutions and actionable recommendations.
•Implement the administration and compliance of SEC’s Net Metering Program.
•Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends and regulatory developments related to energy efficiency and distributed energy resources to proactively identify and recommend relevant energy solutions to the Director of Member and Energy Services.
•Collaborate with the Member Services team and Director of Member and Energy Services to enhance and expand energy solutions that align with member needs and cooperative goals.
Education and Knowledge
•Qualified candidates have attained their high school diploma or GED.
•Associates Degree or current certifications or training in HVAC systems, pre-engineering, or other energy-related disciplines.
Our Energy Auditor & Programs Specialist must reside within sixty minutes legal drive time of our District Office located in Crewe, VA. Candidates already residing in the required area will receive priority consideration.
