The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

Lead and coordinate Electrical and Instrumentation resources for Côté Gold. Lead the team to deliver safe, responsible and effective electrical and instrumentation services. Support, coach, train and create space for the team to be successful.
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Read and interpret drawings, single line diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, P&IDs and schematics.
- Collaborate closely with other shift supervisors, engineers, and maintenance personnel in preparing and coordinating electrical and instrumentation services.
- Organize the maintenance activities, assign and coordinates E&I personnel and/or on-site contractors according to the maintenance program.
- Lead and empower employees in achieving world class electrical and instrumentation services and improve employee work performance and efficiency through mentorship and feedback.
- Create space for the team to be effective in delivering results.
- Foster an inclusive work environment.
- Provide clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required to achieve business plans and maintenance targets.
- Ensure that training, tools and specialized PPE are provided in accordance with the current and future needs of Côté Gold.
- Ensure the required resources (people and equipment) are in place to achieve targets.
- Promote a high performance culture by setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, and providing feedback and coaching.
- Offer new approaches, methods or policies to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational standards.
- Administer and comply with system requirements in a manner consistent with policies, procedures and regulations.
- Perform worksite inspections and safe work observations; participate in and lead investigations.
- Ensure the proper functioning of electrical, instrumentation and control installations.
- Ensure that all E&I work orders are consistently processed and recorded in the maintenance system.
- Seek opportunities and participate in maintenance, production and reliability improvement projects.
- Be proactive and solution driven and implement operational improvements.
- Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
- Continually seek to improve your skills as an Electrical Supervisor.
- Watch for inefficiencies or problems and ensure they are shared with others.
- Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve electrical problems.
- Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost).
Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability.
- Provides leadership and direction to the various maintenance personnel and stakeholders to ensure that the business and mine plan objectives are met.
- Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables.
- Mentor and train new team members.
- Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
- Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
- Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete.
- Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.
- Certified Electrical, Electrical Engineer, E&I Technician or degree in a related program.
- Certificate of Qualification in Ontario or skilled trade certificate (Red Seal) is preferred.
- Completed apprenticeship is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of related work experience, with at least 1 year of related leadership experience.
- Previous experience in an industrial environment (specifically mineral processing) is considered an asset.
- Basic knowledge of high voltage equipment, large AC motors, VFDs, Switchgears, MCCs, PLCs and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and legislation in electricity.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and empower multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proven communication skills, both verbal, written and non-verbal.
- Proficiency in computer applications and maintenance softwares.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- A valid Ontario drivers license is required.
- Understand efficiency drivers in a mining operation.
- Self-motivated individual who is driven to find solutions and strive for continuous improvement in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
