The Electrical Projects Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth planning, execution, and completion of electrical aspects of residential or commercial solar projects. This position acts as the communication bridge between project managers, electricians, permitting teams, utility companies, and inspectors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a strong understanding of electrical systems, permitting requirements, and the solar installation process.
Coordinate and schedule all electrical-related project tasks from contract signing through Permission to Operate (PTO), ensuring timely and accurate execution.
Manage the preparation, review, and submission of electrical plans (e.g., single-line diagrams, load calculations) to permitting authorities and internal teams.
Submit and track electrical permits, coordinate required inspections, and maintain communication with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction).
Serve as a liaison between electricians, project managers, utility companies, and other stakeholders to ensure all electrical work aligns with project timelines and standards.
Coordinate with utility providers on net-metering applications, grid interconnection approvals, and any required service upgrades.
Ensure all documentation—plans, permits, as-builts, and compliance records—are up-to-date and properly stored in project databases or CRMs.
Proactively identify and resolve electrical-related issues, bottlenecks, or discrepancies before they impact the project schedule.
