Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Electrical/Hardware Engineer opportunity in Knoxville, TN.
This position will work with a nuclear engineering consulting firm that provides products and services to measure instrumentation and control system performance in nuclear power plants worldwide. An Electrical/Hardware Engineer on the Systems Team would develop Company software and hardware systems used to successfully deliver products and services for our customers. They work directly with the Software Development Engineers to design and develop data acquisition hardware and integrate it with software, perform hardware verification and validation, and design new test equipment and technology while adhering to Company's comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA) program.
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering - 5+ years of directly related experience in the field of electrical engineering, electronics engineering, software engineering, and/or I&C system engineering, electronic hardware design, development, and testing
- The Company uses hardware and signal conditioning modules from National Instruments (NI) and use NI's LabVIEW software to produce specialized test equipment. The Company is a "systems integrator"
- Design and develop new equipment and technology for testing of nuclear power plant electrical, electronic and electro-mechanic systems
- Develop data acquisition hardware and integrate it with software
- Perform hardware system verification and validation
- Perform research and development to produce new products, equipment and technology
- Travel 6 to 10 times per year for an average 4-day duration per trip to perform field service testing at national and international nuclear power plants
- Perform data analysis and write technical reports
- Prepare technical documentation
- Perform other work as assigned by company management
