- Responsible for preventative maintenance, installation, and repair of all electrical equipment and power and lighting systems in the facility including motors, generators, transformer controls and mechanisms, timing devices, switches, cable and conduits.
- Apply electrical theory and related knowledge to test operation of electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry.
- Work 480 VAC 3 phase motor control systems.
- Medium voltage motors, drives and infrastructure
- Test motor-controlled devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, and other electrical equipment and components.
- Diagnose system malfunctions, isolate causes, and correct deficiencies. Dismantles and reassembles equipment.
- Assist and establish processes and procedures in the performance of preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and diagnose causes of electrical malfunction or failure.
- Electrical Power Distribution: Develop, implement, and maintain the electrical power distribution network, ensuring reliable and efficient power delivery.
- Control Circuits: Design and implement control circuits for various mine site equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.
- Use different hand and diagnostic tools for testing and fixing equipment.
- Work safely, responsibly and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Is alert to hazards and changing conditions on all mine property.
- Communicate with management in any situation that may affect the safety of any employee or other issues that affect production or quality of product.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or Electronics Engineering, and a minimum of 5 years of field experience
- This is primarily a day shift position. Candidate must be able to support any shift in the event of an operational emergency
- Must be familiar with low and medium voltage systems up to 13.6KV transformers and power systems
- PLC troubleshooting in industrial or mining environments.
- PLC logic and Allen-Bradley PLC programming
- Experience in industrial manufacturing environment
- Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of electrical control systems
- Prior experience with the specification and implementation of robust sensors and sensing systems
- A strong technical background
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking team environment
- Requires strong problem-solving skills
- Must be able to physically access all required work areas
- Must be capable of wearing all required personal protective equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to utilize diagnostic techniques and equipment to effectively troubleshoot and solve electrical problems.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 55 hours a week.
- Must be able to wear the required PPE (steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, safety harness and electrical safety equipment).
- Must be able to work safely in varying temperatures in production/warehouse workplace and outside year-round.
- Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling loads up to 50+ lbs.
