Electrical Design Engineer I

Job Overview

Nikkiso Cryoquip is a leading manufacturer of heat exchangers, liquefiers, and vaporizers for the LNG and industrial gases industry. Applications include fueling stations, marine engines, peak shaving, power generation, virtual pipelines, and well stimulation.

Responsibilities

- Creating the following types of detail drawings and component selection: electrical schematics, control panel layouts and junction boxes, outline drawings and component details for electrical systems, piping and instrument diagrams, details of machined parts for electrical systems

- Selection of component parts and materials to be used in the above drawing types and creating parts lists for procurement

- Testing and troubleshooting panels and control systems

- Programing of PLC systems (Allen Bradley/Rockwell control platform, RS Logix programming software)

- Work with customers on integrating controls into their systems

- Going to the field to help integration and installation of controls

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role routinely utilizes the operation of material handling equipment and various tools and machinery.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and work with various materials and/or tools, as well as work and bend at different heights, in various temperatures, and be on feet for an extended period of time.

Qualifications

- BS in Electrical Engineering

- 0-2 years of related electrical engineering experience

- HVAC electrical engineering knowledge or experience preferred

- HVAC system knowledge or experience in designing refrigeration and or chiller control systems preferred

- Independently able to derive control logic from systems problem statements and integrate logic to achieve system control

- knowledge or experience with large three phase electric motors or compressors preferred

- Knowledge or experience with multiple stage control logic including the integration of low voltage controls to high voltage controls as it relates to motor starters, fuse and circuit breaker protection of electric motor, compressor, and refrigeration equipment preferred

- Knowledge or experience with electrical code

- Use of the following engineering and design software preferred: Inventor 2010 and/or SolidWorks preferred, AutoCAD 2010, PLM Software (Product Center), ERP Software

- Ability to properly size and select electrical components for the project specification requirements

- Knowledge of PLC programing preferred

- Knowledge of Allen Bradley/Rockwell control platform preferred

- Knowledge of RS Logix programming software preferred
