About the Role:
We’re seeking a
Turnaround Planner
with hands-on
field and execution experience
, specializing in
Control Valve planning and maintenance
. This role supports a major industrial turnaround at a large hydrogen production facility in Carson, CA. The ideal candidate brings strong
E&I familiarity
, can walk down valves in the field, and understands how to
build, disassemble, and reassemble
control valves. While scheduling knowledge is a plus,
this is not a scheduling role
— planning, documentation, and execution support are the core responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
•Build detailed work packages for control valve overhaul and maintenance
•Conduct field walks to verify valve locations, conditions, and scope
•Read and interpret P&IDs, valve specs, and BOMs
•Identify parts needed for valve repair and coordinate procurement
•Lead and support valve work during execution phase (7/12s schedule)
•Prepare documentation: safety procedures, QC standards, photos, test forms
•Use Primavera P6 to input and track planning details (activities, resources)
•Support E&I interfaces as related to instrumentation and valve work
•QA/QC completed work orders and ensure accurate closeout documentation
•Collaborate with multi-functional teams (engineering, materials, logistics, QA)
•Uphold strong safety and housekeeping standards across all job sites
Ideal Candidate Profile:
•5+ years in Control Valve planning for turnarounds or large industrial projects
•5+ years of field-level valve tech or valve maintenance experience
•Strong understanding of instrumentation and E&I work environments
•Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, OneNote), and P6
•Able to create and issue complete field-ready work packages
•Familiar with outage workflows, materials coordination, and job walks
•Comfortable working independently and in high-paced site settings
•TWIC or other compliance certifications may be required

•This role supports a multi-month turnaround at a hydrogen production plant in Carson, CA, as part of a broader start-up and outage support program. The planner will be embedded onsite and collaborate closely with turnaround leadership, engineers, and contractors.
