EHS Specialist

OVERVIEW

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) provides technical development and commercialization of domestic, sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies for use in batteries that power electric cars, grid storage applications, and consumer electronics and tools. Our first of kind systems produce commercial-scale battery materials that will be sold into the battery manufacturing supply chain to enact a low-cost, low environmental impact, and domestically sourced closed-loop circular economy. Our headquarters is in downtown Reno, Nevada with site locations in Sparks, Fernley, and Tonopah, Nevada.

ABOUT THE JOBAre you looking for a role in which you will have a major impact on all levels of an organization? ABTC is looking for a well-rounded EHS specialist to join the EHS team to build out ABTC’s EHS program. This individual will work with and through all levels of the organization engaging floor employees to leadership. The positions will engage all aspects of the EHS program including- Environmental permitting and inspections, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, construction, waste management, safety program creation, and implementation of each one of these programs. If you are interested in growing your career, while simultaneously building an EHS program from scratch in a start-up environment this is the role for you.

This EHS Specialist will be based out of ABTC’s Lithium- ion Battery Recycling facility located in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center in McCarran, NV. They will apply a risk based approached to EHS to drive ownership of safety, health, and environmental impacts, with a focus on engagement, learning from events, training, and systems-level problem solving.

The candidate will develop, implement, and continuously improve programs within the EHS Management System framework in partnership with the broader site teams. They will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
