Job Summary
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures that ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote a safe and healthy workplace for employees and visitors. This role involves monitoring compliance, conducting audits, investigating incidents, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
Job Duties
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to environmental protection, occupational health, and workplace safety.
• Conduct facility inspections and audits to identify potential environmental or safety hazards, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials or bio-waste in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, analyze data, and implement preventative measures to reduce risk.
• Prepare and submit accident and incident reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation to support regulatory compliance and internal reporting.
• Promote and uphold 5S standards by ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Adhere to all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.
• Provide guidance and training on EHS policies and best practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in environmental health and safety or a related field.
• Ability to handle moderately complex issues and escalate more complex matters as needed.
• Experience in coaching, mentoring, or providing guidance to junior team members.
• OSHA certifications preferred
