What you will do:

The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive environmental, health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees in the multi-location organization. This role focuses on identifying risks, enforcing compliance with OSHA, EPA, WDNR and other regulatory requirements, training staff, and promoting a safety-first culture throughout the organization. In addition, this role provides leadership, guidance, and assistance for employees in achieving outstanding safety and environmental performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Develop and maintain environmental, health and safety policies, procedures, and training programs tailored to woodworking and countertop manufacturing environments. + Lead initiatives to foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement. + Monitor and analyze safety performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement. + Oversee hazard communication, machine guarding, dust collection systems, PPE use, ergonomics, etc. + Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, WDNR, EPA, and local safety regulations. + OSHA: Maintain and submit necessary records, reports, logs and permits as required by law.

- Work with trade and professional organizations to promote goals and objectives in the environmental, health and safety area that affects company business.

- Conduct or direct testing of air quality and noise levels to verify compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations.

+ DOT: Manage compliance, training and coaching to drivers on the FMCSA, IRP, MCS-150, WDNR and DOT regulations that cover business.

- Manage compliance with physical exams, random drug testing and licensing.

- Maintain MVR files for employees who operate vehicles and FMCSA hours of service log books and regulations.

+ Lead internal and external audits and respond to findings with corrective actions. + Incident Investigation & Reporting for OSHA and worker’s compensation purposes. + Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-misses; determine root causes; and implement corrective/preventive actions. + Maintain detailed records of all incidents and safety metrics.

+ Develop and conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings. + Assist line and staff management to understand OSHA regulations and standards, including guidance on handling OSHA compliance, inspections and citations. + Act as point of contact for addressing employees concerns regarding health and safety policies. + Develop and manage emergency response plans, fire drills, and evacuation procedures. + Coordinate with local emergency services as needed.
