This position represents the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs for Gulfport Energy Corporation, providing technical assistance to Corporate EHS and field personnel and is responsible for gathering data for permitting and reporting.
• Provide technical assistance to field personnel regarding EHS policies and procedures
• Serve as a point of contact between field operations and corporate EHS
• Provide support and leadership with EHS duties and incidents including but not limited to safety, spills, air releases, injuries, etc.
• Assist with elimination/minimization of human injury and property and productivity losses through the designed GP Management policies, programs, and practices.
• Recognition of EHS policy and principals placed by region, state, and federal agencies
• Assist field operations in implementation of EHS programs, and investigate incidents to determine root cause and provide corrective action
• Provide input to hazardous material communications, including review of safety data sheets
• Conduct field inspections and report findings to Operations and Corporate EHS
• Perform troubleshooting, strive to resolve issues, provide service reports as necessary
• Provide spill response and oversee cleanup activities
• Assist with the development, implementation and coordination of the SPCC program
• Attend, participate, conduct monthly safety and environmental trainings. Complete web-based or other trainings as requested • Participate in general safety meetings and daily operation conference calls
• Provide guidance and support of issues and concern, working with superintendent’s/coordinator’s/lead’s to address and/or resolve issues and concerns; ensure follow-up on any deficiencies or action items.
• Work with operations to mitigate high profile operations
• Discuss new processes, upcoming projects, upcoming meetings, etc.; discern needs, offer suggestions and ideas
• Discuss current incidents and investigations with findings with open discussion of current events
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
• Willingness to gain training in safety and environmental programs
• Knowledge and use with Microsoft Office Products
• Effective communicator at all levels of an organization and with individuals and groups from different disciplines, industries and governmental agencies
• Ability to proficiently schedule, coordinate, plan and monitor multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to analyze situations and data objectively Initiative to work independently, but also effective in a team setting
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to complete projects assigned with necessary follow up within deadlines
• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or EHS/CSP certification with 1 year(s) of safety experience
• Preferred (1) year experience in Oil & Gas industry setting with safety and environmental knowledge
• Experience in analyzing summarizing data for broad distribution or for use in determining how to focus resources
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook

This job operates in both a professional office environment and a field environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and iPhones. This job also operates in a field environment with equipment, dust, debris, and varying weather conditions.
This is a full-time salary exempt position. Days of work and hours can vary due to workload/needs of the company. This position requires an individual who can answer emergency calls at any time. This employee must be available to come to work during off-hours and/or weekends to address emergency conditions or other situations that may arise.
Frequent travel and field work is expected for this position.
