Responsibilities

The Drilling Optimization Engineer is an experienced individual that applies advanced data analytics, drilling engineering principles, and industry-leading operational best practices to proactively identify and support well construction optimization opportunities to deliver “high performance, high value”. Responsibilities include:

Identify opportunities for optimizing well construction and develop high-value solutions by utilizing rig operation expertise, engineering principles, and data analysis to aid decision-making

•

Understand and utilize Alpha™ technologies to support value-driven solutions that impact the technical aspects of well-construction projects

•

Collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment, promoting team efficiency and achieving project objectives

•

Transfer technical knowledge effectively to inform future projects by creating case studies, analysis reports, and presentations for stakeholders

•

Advise stakeholders on data-driven decision-making to define objectives and establish performance goals

•

Inspire and develop both yourself and others, fostering an environment where creativity and innovation can thrive

•

Communicate both technical and non-technical issues clearly, in both verbal and written English

•

Employ your unique skill set to enhance and diversify the optimization team’s capabilities

•

Travel periodically to active drilling locations, as required, to support operations and performance improvement initiatives

•

Be prepared to serve as an In-House Drilling Optimization Engineer for Precision Drilling, representing the company’s interests in various capacities

Knowledge & Skills

A passion for drilling, optimization, innovative rig technology, and data analytics

Ability to analyze customer challenges, propose tailored technical solutions, and adjust communication and technical depth to match diverse audiences

A superior analytical mindset with a proven ability to resolve problems and identify solutions

An aptitude for engineering and analytical software, problem-solving, and quality assurance

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited University

Registered and maintaining a good standing with APEGA

Experience

3-5 years of related work experience (drilling optimization, solutions, or technical sales experience is preferred
