This position completes assignments of a technical nature requiring independent judgment and skill in the Computer Aided Drafting Design of OPPD's Distribution facilities under the direction of an Engineer or Designer. Duties may be narrowly or broadly focused on the Responsibilities and Accountabilities that follow.
1. Computer Aided Drafting Design of OPPD's Distribution facilities
- Creates and updates detailed civil, structural, and electrical engineering Computer Aided Drafting Designs (CADD) using Bentley MicroStation products to be used as official work order drawings that are accurately and timely.
- Uploads all work order drawings into the work management software (Ventyx - Asset Suite).
- Creates base CADD drawings using land survey data.
- Responsible for converting drawing files from external engineering firms into MicroStation .dgn format.
- Creates official drawings to be used in easement agreements to be recorded at the corresponding courthouse of the residing county.
- Creates and updates all distribution circuit maps.
- Provides plots of existing distribution facility layouts to requesting government entities.
- Operates engineering scanning, copying, and plotting equipment.
- High School diploma or GED is required
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in CADD; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Demonstrated effective analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, exercise flexibility, and take personal responsibility for assigned projects.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple projects simultaneously with frequent changing priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a professional and respectful manner.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation and MS Office Suite products.
- Associates degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting.
