DOT Compliance/Safety Manager

Position: Compliance/Safety Manager. Location: Riviera Beach. Company: Starfleet.

Starfleet is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Safety and Compliance Manager to oversee and ensure our business practices meet all relevant legal, regulatory, and internal requirements. This role is crucial to maintaining our operational integrity, particularly in DOT compliance and fleet safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Management:

- Develop, implement, and manage an effective legal and regulatory compliance program.

- Monitor and document vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs.

- Maintain DOT Driver Qualification files within the database.

- Ensure all business operations align with applicable laws and internal standards.

- Conduct regular audits of company policies, procedures, and documentation to identify compliance risks.

- Evaluate and improve internal control systems to prevent or respond to violations.

- Prepare detailed compliance reports and advise management on risk and resolution strategies.

- Respond to audit findings and implement corrective action plans.

Training and Policy Development:

- Develop and maintain internal policies and training materials in line with federal regulations and company standards.

- Lead training sessions and refresher courses for staff on DOT regulations and company compliance procedures.

- Keep staff informed of changes in compliance requirements, especially those relating to DOT rules.

- Ensure company-wide understanding of and adherence to compliance practices.

Operational Support:

- Provide ongoing support to fleet operations and assist with other duties as assigned.

- Act as a subject matter expert in DOT and fleet compliance.

Qualifications:

- Experience in DOT compliance and Fleet Management, preferably in transportation or fuel distribution.

- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and related platforms (samara).

- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks.

- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
