The District Manager has the primary overall responsibility for leading and managing their assigned location. Manages all facets of the district with accountability for its growth, EBITDA, and Safety. Accountable for the overall direction of district activities to ensure high levels of customer service, operational effectiveness, employee productivity, customer and employee retention and profitability.
- Leads and supervises office and operational personnel
- Ensures daily work and reports are completed in an efficient and timely manner
- Investigates and resolves customer service issues and complaints
- Meets or exceeds district sales goals by partnering with the VP of Sales & Marketing and the Sales Manager
- Optimizes profitability of the district by actively managing controllable expenses, local inventory, and directing the development of continued improvement projects to generate hard cost savings/profit improvement
- In partnership with corporate team coordinates product deliveries
- In partnership with corporate team coordinates service and installations
- Maintains district properties safety and appearance including offices, yard, bulk tanks, and vehicles with a goal of zero accidents, zero incidents
- Shares accountability for collection of outstanding receivables
- Participates in community activities such as local Chambers of Commerce, Company publicity events, etc.
- Closely monitors customer retention and customer growth for the district
- Reconciles cash, parts inventory, fuel inventory and equipment
- Displays professionalism in behaviors and attitudes in and out of the work environment as a representative of the Company
- Plans for succession and develops employees for advancement
- Performs other projects and duties as assigned
Must have excellent customer service abilities and interpersonal skills. The ability to manage in a fluid, fast pace environment is a must along with being highly motivated and well-organized. A working knowledge of computers is required. The ability to be a team leader and make decisions is essential to the position, as is the ability to maintain a professional attitude with both employees and customers.
- High School diploma required; College degree a plus
- Knowledge of Salesforce and DocuSign a plus
- Previous experience in the propane industry preferred but not required
