Summary
Provides detailed technical support for the requirements and responsibilities directly related to permitting needed for the electric distribution system to meet present and future demand while providing high quality, reliable electric service at a competitive cost. This position will be responsible for becoming a subject matter expert in the permitting processes and procedures, building strong business relationships with permitting entities, problem solving, and collaboration and correspondence with other work groups to promote a positive and successful outcome to the permitting needs of any specific project. The incumbent will serve as a functional SME for permitting as a whole, able to conduct evaluations of the permitting processes and procedures and bring forth any possible problems and solutions associated with permitting.
Key Roles & Responsibilities•Project management of the permitting process from start to finish
•Management of incoming permitting requests, keeping them organized and on track
•Works with other work groups to obtain necessary documentation and information needed to complete a permit request
•Provides status updates and reporting to other work groups as to status of various permitting requests
•Coordinates the ordering and sees to completion any necessary data and surveying information
•Submits the permit requests to the required entities and sees the submittal through to completion
•Creates and builds close working relationships with permitting entities to create efficiencies in the process
•Becomes a valuable point of contact between Oncor and various permitting entities
•Keeps records of permitting process expectations of the various permitting entities in order to streamline processes
•Observes corporate policies, codes, and procedures related to his/her area
•Technically proficient in his/her area of expertise while ensuring all project designs are in accordance with written policies and procedures
•Demonstrates awareness of conditions that affect employee and/or public safety. Strives to create a safe environment; complies with and enforces safety rules, handbook and procedures
•Incorporates personnel and public safety as a priority in the design and operation of system projects

•Coordinates various types of engineering, construction, and maintenance permitting projects during various phases until completed

Education And Experience
Distribution Permitting Specialist Associate:
•High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
•Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or business-related field is encouraged to apply.
•1-3 Years of related permitting or project management experience is encouraged to apply.
•Knowledge of the electrical utility industry is encouraged to apply.
Distribution Permitting Specialist: (in addition to the above associate requirements)
•3-5 Years of related permitting or project management experience is encouraged to apply.

•Possesses the skills, knowledge, and expertise required to perform the essential aspects of the job as well as any other job specific educational and/or certification requirements.
•Technically proficient in his/her area of expertise while ensuring all project designs are in accordance with written policies and procedures.
