Position Summary
Oversee operations personnel within the Distribution Operations Center (DOC), ensuring SCADA system performance and compliance with regulatory and Cooperative standards. Lead initiatives that enhance cross-departmental coordination, system reliability, and team effectiveness. This role is a leadership role in a 24/7/365 control center environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•Maintain integrity of the SCADA system, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and lifecycle planning.
•Support system performance, resource scheduling, and distribution automation integration.
•Stay informed on technology advancements and promote continual system improvement.
•Collaborate with internal departments on projects and priorities.
•Communicate effectively with management, engineers, and external stakeholders.
•Represent DOC programs to Board committees and participate in related meetings.
•Develop and implement operating procedures and service standards.
•Track and report on key performance metrics and department status.
•Manage department budget planning and execution.
•Ensure adherence to FERC/NERC and PUCT/ERCOT requirements.
•Train personnel on applicable standards and maintain data security protocols.
•Promote operational integrity and regulatory alignment.
•Supervise DOC staff (Recruitment, Training, Performance Evaluation, and Personnel Actions.)
•Provide clear direction, resolve escalated issues, and support professional development

Supervisory and/or Leadership Responsibilities
A full range of supervisory activities, training, evaluation, counseling and recommendation for termination. This includes, but is not limited to, effectively communicating organizational policies and other information to subordinates, ensuring that employees have a clear understanding of their responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•Knowledge of SCADA systems, utility operations, and applicable regulations
•Knowledge of business and management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques and budgeting
•Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software programs, entering data or processing information
•Knowledge of NERC, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and Electric Reliability Council of Texas
•Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
•Skilled in performance management, budgeting, and adaptive problem solving
•Skilled in monitoring and managing performance
•Skilled in establishing and communicating performance expectations and metrics
•Skilled in time management

Minimum Qualifications - (Education, Experience)
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
•Directly related experience may substitute for education
•Three years related work experience
•Three years of supervisory experience
•Valid Texas driver’s license
