We are currently recruiting a Distribution Center Operations Manager to join our team of dedicated professionals in Bathurst, NB.
Reporting to the Corporate Operations Manager, the Distribution Centre Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the distribution centre. This includes managing warehouse employees, coordinating freight and courier logistics, and ensuring the facility is maintained to meet operational and safety standards. This role ensures efficient, accurate, and timely distribution of goods while maintaining a safe and organized working environment. They will play a critical role in streamlining supply chain activities to support our business goals and enhance the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
What you’ll do:
•Lead, coach, and supervise warehouse staff, including scheduling, performance management, and training.
•Ensure safe and efficient handling, storage, and movement of inventory.
•Ensure successful completion of year end inventory while minimizing extra expenses including staff hours.
•Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee regular cycle counts and reconciliation.
•Prepares & Maintains DC Operating Budget.
•Enforce compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
•Manage inbound and outbound freight and courier operations to ensure timely delivery and receipt.
•Establish and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers, and branches to ensure reliable and cost-effective services.
•Monitor shipping costs and identify opportunities for cost savings or service improvements.
•Collaborate with the CFO on the negotiation of courier/freight rates and providers.
•Oversee all aspects of building maintenance, cleanliness, and security (Including Head Office).
•Coordinate with contractors and service providers for repairs, inspections, and routine upkeep.
•Ensure the facility complies with health and safety standards, fire codes, and company policies.
Qualifications and key competencies:
•Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics and/or warehouse management; with 5 years of experience in a management role.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Excellent communication and negotiation skills
•Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
•Proven skills to interact effectively with employees to direct workflow, assess performance and assign duties.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and building maintenance is an asset.
•Education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or related field is an asset.

This is a full-time salaried position working onsite at our location at our Bathurst Distribution Centre. Business hours for Eddy Group locations are 7:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday, but hours outside of these should be expected. The ability to travel to meetings, educational seminars and networking events is required. Annual base salary will be commensurate with your experience.
