Role Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager, Dispatch Assistants manage shift change activities for the public contract group, support data collection and analysis, ticket processing and compliance, ticket auditing, and manage various administrative activities with the dispatch office and 24-hour Ticket Clearance Centre. This position operates on fixed shifts to support shift change activities. Shifts are Monday to Friday with some early morning and evening shifts as well as 4 hours each weekend. Approximately 40 hours/week.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Process utility locating tickets following contract guidelines.
•Analyze mapping and utility locations against excavation requests using various mapping tools.
•Coordinate with technicians during shift changes, support inventory distribution, manage field computers, and oversee other shift change activities.
•Prepare daily work instructions and dispatch packages by region, and track and record performance statistics as needed.
•Enter sales orders into the system.
•Collect and input subsurface data from various sources into a database.
•Conduct quality and compliance audits in collaboration with the Quality Manager.
•Perform general office administrative tasks.
•Handle other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent experience
•1-2 years of experience in an office administration department
•Intermediate computer skills
•Strong phone-based customer service abilities
•Highly organized and composed under pressure
•Effective team collaborator
•Self-motivated and capable of working independently
•Excellent communication skills
