Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Supply Chain Manager, the Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and managing the schedules for the drivers and customers, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
Roles and Responsibilities:
•Schedule and dispatch to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications or needs.
•Receive customer order requests.
•Monitor and track progress of deliveries and provide updates to customers and managers.
•Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner and or route to the appropriate department manager to ensure a proper resolution.
•Maintain accurate records of driver activities, delivery times and customer interactions.
•Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
•Utilize dispatch software and tools to optimize routes and improve efficiency.
•Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local, state and federal regulations.
•Type correspondence, prepare reports, and maintain files.
•Follow and support all company safety policy and practices, participating in toolbox talks, area inspections, and improvement recommendations.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Must be able to work a rotating shift, and On-Call weekends.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Strong time management skills: must be able to handle multiple projects and prioritize work according to strict deadlines.
•Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data entry, reporting, and communication.
•Ability to plan and prioritize daily duties to meet customer needs.
•Demonstrate critical thinking skills and ability to make sound decisions on information available.
•Flexibility and ability to adjust priorities
•Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of team.
•Bilingual (English & Spanish) highly preferred.
Education/Experience:
•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•2 years of relatable work experience in logistics or transportation preferred.
