Position Summary: Dispatcher / Customer Service / Order Taker
This position is responsible for taking orders from customers and or shipping tickets to company -owned plants. The dispatcher ensures timely, efficient, and accurate order processing and delivery. This role involves direct communication with customers, drivers, plant staff, vendors, and maintenance personnel to support seamless daily operations and uphold the company’s commitment to outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
•Receive and process customer, driver, and hauler phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
•Enter and manage orders using the dispatch system.
•Schedule and assign trucks to optimize efficiency and service levels.
•Coordinate with customers to maintain accurate delivery schedules and adjust truck demand as needed.
•Manage paperwork and documentation for each delivery, ensuring proper billing and order tracking.
•Place outbound calls to confirm and schedule future orders.
•Assist with order follow-up and same-day availability requests.
•Support operations and maintenance teams by relaying timely information regarding deliveries and equipment needs.
Qualifications:
•Strong knowledge of southeastern Pennsylvania’s geography and surrounding areas.
•Proficient with computers and dispatch/order management software.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
•Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Ability to read and interpret maps and delivery instructions.
•Comfortable with early start times and extended hours as needed due to seasonal or weather-related demands.
