Director, Shared Services Accounting

Basic Function

HF Sinclair in Dallas, TX is seeking a Director, Shared Services Accounting who will oversee and direct the company's transactional accounting operations and policies including but not limited to midstream accounting billing and collections, general payables, compensation accounting, and Lubricants accounting. Ensures operational and financial controls, and promoting consistency, best practices and cost control.

Job Duties

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in general accounting with at least five years in a leadership/supervisory capacity and international oversight. A significant amount of experience in SAP also is required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Five years of industry experience is preferred.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business, finance or related field, as well as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation () are required

PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

MBA is preferred.

Required Skills

Ability to lead and direct the work of other senior management associates. Proficient with spreadsheet, database and word processing applications; strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills; strong working knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP), SAP, tax laws pertaining to payroll and accounts payable and Fair Debt and Collection laws; detail oriented. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products and experience with accounting and maintenance software. A broad and deep understanding of accounting practices and procedures. Previous Inventory Accounting experience. Advanced ability to manage projects and assignments with extreme accuracy and efficiency. Advanced reading and writing skills; the ability to communicate effectively with others, both written and verbal; and to perform advanced mathematical calculations.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Responsible for the supervision of approximately 50 professional accounting and managerial employees.

Work Conditions

Office based with travel up to 50% by land or air is required. Driver based environment. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions.
