Role Summary
We are seeking a Director of Quality Assurance with a strong background in nuclear licensing and regulatory compliance. This role will be foundational in developing and maintaining Hadron Energy’s Quality Assurance Program in alignment with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and other applicable NRC, DOE, and ASME standards. You will collaborate across engineering, regulatory, and operations teams to ensure our reactor systems and processes meet rigorous safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
•Develop, implement, and manage Hadron Energy’s Nuclear Quality Assurance Program (NQAP) in accordance with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and NQA-1 requirements.
•Serve as the QA lead for NRC engagements, licensing submissions, and regulatory audits.
•Establish internal audit programs and vendor qualification processes for nuclear-grade components and services.
•Review engineering designs and documentation to ensure compliance with QA requirements.
•Work cross-functionally to embed quality throughout the product development lifecycle—from R&D through design, fabrication, and deployment.
•Lead Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes, root cause analysis, and lessons learned initiatives.
•Maintain training programs to ensure organizational awareness and compliance with quality standards.
•Support supply chain development, vendor oversight, and inspections for safety-related components.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Nuclear Science, or related field.
•5+ years experience in nuclear quality assurance, licensing, or regulatory affairs.
•Proficiency with 10 CFR 71, Subpart H (transportation QA) and 10 CFR 72, Subpart G (storage QA)
•Demonstrated experience with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, and related standards.
•Experience working directly with the NRC and/or DOE on licensing and regulatory processes.
•Proven ability to lead quality programs in a startup, advanced reactor, or commercial nuclear setting.
•Familiarity with the attributes of a strong safety culture
•Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience with technical writing for regulatory bodies a plus.
•U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required (for export control compliance).
