Dilmar Oil Company is a distributor of lubricants with brands such as Pennzoil, Quaker State, Rotella, and its own private label brands throughout the Southeast.
The Director of Inventory will seek to improve all aspects of the supply chain, purchasing, and inventory management. Working closely with the marketing, pricing, operations, sales, accounting, and procurement departments utilizing NetSuite ERP to manage and organize warehouse inventory and vendor relations.
In essence, the inventory director is a critical leader who ensures that a company has the right amount of inventory, at the right time, and at the right cost, while also minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
· Train and instruct other members of the Supply Chain, procurement teams in industry methodologies, IT, and sourcing and procurement strategies and procedures.
· Maintain a friendly and professional relationship with vendors while promoting company initiatives and values.
· Coordinate supply chain strategy operations and sales management teams.
· Research and seek out the most cost-efficient shipment procedures and methods of sourcing and procurement while driving lean initiatives.
· Organize and oversee inventory management with procurement and operations group by keeping a detailed database of available inventory.
· Research partner companies, alternative sources, and new product category management while seeking to negotiate best-price contracts to increase business profits.
· Plan and implement supply chain optimization projects and assigned project management duties.
· Commodity Index tracking, costing process tracking and submission.
· Analyzing data and market trends to predict future inventory needs and adjust stock levels accordingly.
· Defining specific goals for inventory accuracy, turnover, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
· Ensuring efficient storage and timely delivery of products to meet customer demands and production needs.
· Using data analysis tools to identify trends, forecast demand, and make informed decisions about inventory management.
· Creating regular reports on inventory levels, costs, performance metrics and other relevant data for management review.
· Bachelor’s Degree requiredpreferably in Supply Chain Management
· 3-5 years Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing Management experience
· Project Management Skills (Micro-soft projects or equivalent experience)
