We are looking for an experienced Diesel Technician to join our fleet maintenance team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of diesel-powered trucks, including fuel tankers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of diesel engines, fuel systems, and heavy-duty vehicles, with a commitment to safety and high-quality service.
DUTIES:
•Perform routine and emergency maintenance on diesel-powered trucks, including fuel tankers, tractors, and trailers.
•Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, including engine, transmission, brake, electrical, and HVAC systems.
•Conduct inspections and repairs in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
•Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts, and service history.
•Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to ensure vehicle uptime and safety.
•Work closely with the fleet manager to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
•Ensure proper functionality of fuel handling systems, pumps, and delivery equipment.
•Assist in managing parts inventory and ordering necessary components.
•Participate in emergency breakdown response to repair trucks on-site or in the field when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Experience as a diesel mechanic or technician, preferably in a trucking or fuel hauling environment.
•Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, fuel systems, and heavy-duty vehicle repair.
•Proficient in using diagnostic tools, mechanical equipment, and repair manuals.
•Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety compliance for fuel hauling.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
•High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
•Valid driver's license (CDL preferred, but not required).
