Summary:
Performs preventative and non-scheduled maintenance on heavy duty trucks / trailers and other equipment. Performs repairs or replaces broken parts as necessary with limited supervision. Performs minor body work. May train level 1 technicians. Performs all work in accordance with established practices.
Major Duties
•Performs routine, preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections, in compliance with FMCSA inspection guidelines
•Performs various non-scheduled repairs on trucks and trailers with limited supervision
•Records all work performed on work orders and inspection forms, responsible for entering accurate information on work orders while maintaining accountability for allocation of parts to specific equipment
•Cleans and maintains assigned work areas
•Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Education, Skills and Experience:
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Vocational training preferred, Preparation for CDL a plus
•1- 2 years related experience in tractor / trailer maintenance in a commercial garage or fleet leasing company, minimum 1 year
•A degree in Diesel Mechanics is preferred
