About This Job

Equipment East, LLC, a heavy construction equipment dealer, is recruiting the best talent to join its team as a diesel mechanic. We are looking for an experienced shop and road diesel technician mechanic south of Boston. This position may require work in shop as well as on the road.

Responsibilities/Duties for "Diesel Mechanic"

· Diagnose and repair equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, and other heavy construction equipment

•

Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for the work performed

•

Communicate job progress to supervisor and customer as needed

•

Complete service reports, order parts, and maintain clear and accurate customer records

Experience/Qualifications for "Diesel Mechanic"

· 2-year technical degree or high school diploma

•

5+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience, preferably some field experience

•

Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, components, electrical, and fuel systems;

•

Excellent diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills, willing to attend training, able to work efficiently under pressure

•

Positive attitude and desire to provide outstanding, professional customer service

•

Strong written and verbal communication skills

•

Ability to maintain safe and clean work environment

•

Basic computer skills

•

Must own mechanic tool set

•

Clean driving record

•

CDL or willingness to obtain one within a defined period of time

•

Able to operate equipment

Minimum physical requirements:

•

Push/pull up to 100 lbs

•

Lift/carry up to 100 lbs

•

Lift bulky objects
